Abacast P2P To Webcast Technical Emmys Live On January 8TH
The National
Television Academy, in partnership with TV Worldwide and Abacast, Inc, will
webcast the Technical Emmy Awards Presentation held at the Venetian in Las
Vegas on Monday, January 8, 2007.
For the first
time ever the online broadcast will be delivered with very high quality video
online, 548Kbps. This is only possible for an event of this magnitude because
of Abacast’s patented, live, distributed streaming technology allowing for more
robust streaming connections and significantly reduced infrastructure and
bandwidth costs.
“This is a
very exciting opportunity to showcase the quality and efficiency of our
technology to deliver such an event at low cost,” says Mike King CEO of Abacast.
“This webcast will show the quality of live streaming that can be achieved
using our smart, secure P2PTV technology over the web.”
The event
will feature a special presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award to Eddy
Hartenstein, former Vice Chairman of The DIRECTV Group, Inc.
“Abacast is proud
to be a part of this event,” states King, “as it points to the heart of Abacast’s
mission of bringing new technology to broadcast entertainment and
communication.” Abacast’s mission has always been to aid broadcasters in using
new technology to create profitable business models online. Abacast’s ability to
reach a large audience with a high quality stream at a very low cost is the
key.
