Michael King, President of Abacast, to Speak at Digital Hollywood Conference and Exposition

Camas, WA, April 29th – Michael King, President of Abacast, is scheduled to speak at the Digital Hollywood, P2P Media Summit LA, held May 5, 2008 in Hollywood, California. The conference features keynotes from top P2P and social networking software distributors, panels of industry leaders, valuable workshops, and more, and is held prior to the Digital Hollywood Exposition on May 6th and 7th.

Mr. King’s session, held from 11am to 11:45am, focuses on P2P solutions development, particularly around creating commercial P2P ecosystems, and what advancements are being made to optimize the deployment for the benefit of all participants in the P2P distribution chain. This session also addresses how CDNs are exploiting P2P, what issues still remain, and if P2P technology can help broadcasters and content providers overcome the limitations of live webcasting.

The panel discussion will also be addressing the challenges of generating revenue in the industry and how it is being solved by content owners, service providers, telcos, and broadband operators, and will cover the architectural, content acceleration, caching and other technological solutions that are now in development. Content providers will learn about opportunities to create revenue generating business models for online video rather than to support it from a bandwidth infrastructure perspective.

The summit takes place in conjunction with the Digital Hollywood Spring Conference, the industry’s premier entertainment and technology conference.
