Ad Insertion System™
Abacast's Ad Insertion System™ (AIS) allows broadcasters to easily switch their online stream from over-the-air (terrestrial) content to online only content as they choose. Revenue is increased by serving different ads to terrestrial and online audiences, through increased inventory, and through client side personalization. Injected ads can be pulled from external locations making reselling of ad inventory straight forward. Switching can be completely automated by triggers that are sent from all standard play-out systems.
AIS also works with other Abacast revenue generating services including:
- Player Sponsorships – sell premium promotional time and player real-estate
- Gateway or Pre-Roll Advertisements – generate revenue from audio or video ads when a listener session begins
- Rotating Banner Ads – rotate banner ads on the player to capture additional revenue
- Abacast Premier Media Player - provide any or all of these monetization capabilities, customized with your station brand
How It Works
Abacast's patent pending Ad Insertion System allows stations to easily and automatically replace terrestrial content (typically ads or PSAs) with online-specific ads or other content to realize additional revenue from online initiatives. AIS is a lightweight software program that runs on the encoder server. It automatically interprets triggers in the terrestrial content indicating a commercial or other replaceable content is coming up and injects online-specific ads or content into the online stream.
AIS has a graphically rich and flexible management interface and allows simple or sophisticated ad sourcing and scheduling.
Target Your Market
With AIS you can deliver ads across a large region by grouping stations together or you target specific regions by creating separate station groups and delivering different ads per group. AIS 2.0 also features AdSync™ for synchronizing banner or tile advertisements with the injected ads or content, allowing for direct call to action campaigns. AIS opens new opportunities for advertisements, music, public service announcements, station Ids, cross promotion, etc. All of the injected content can be sourced from either local files or remote files allowing for the ultimate flexibility as well as some very creative online ad campaigns.
Seamlessly Replace Terrestrial Content
AIS features an intelligent buffering system that allows injected online-targeted ad content to be of longer length than the replaced terrestrial content. AIS injects the online ad content into the stream and buffers the terrestrial content while it finishes injecting the online content. When the injected online content is complete, AIS begins feeding the buffered content into the stream. The result is a seamless listening experience for your audience, longer listening sessions, and more ad revenue for your station.
